Refund Policy
Effective Date: October 21, 2026
1. Refund Policy Overview
At Speed, we are committed to providing a premium luxury vehicle rental experience with transparent payment and refund procedures.
This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which customers may qualify for refunds related to vehicle reservations, rental payments, booking deposits, security deposits, and other eligible charges.
By completing a reservation, customers acknowledge that this policy applies alongside the applicable Rental Agreement, Cancellation Policy, and any vehicle-specific terms disclosed at booking.
2. Booking Deposits
Booking deposits are used to secure vehicle availability and reserve the selected rental period.
Nonrefundable booking deposits: Booking deposits are nonrefundable, except where a refund is required by law or expressly approved by Speed.
Reservation cancellation: If a customer cancels a reservation, the booking deposit may be retained in accordance with the disclosed Cancellation Policy.
Company cancellation: If Speed cancels a confirmed reservation and cannot provide an alternative acceptable to the customer, amounts paid for the unavailable rental will be refunded as required by the applicable booking terms and law.
Reservation changes: Deposits may be transferred to a rescheduled booking with Speed’s written approval, subject to availability and any disclosed price differences.
The booking deposit and its refund conditions will be disclosed before payment.
3. Security Deposits
A security deposit is separate from the booking deposit and is intended to secure qualifying obligations under the rental agreement.
Security deposits are refundable after the rental, subject to legitimate, documented outstanding amounts permitted by the rental agreement and applicable law.
Eligible deductions may include unpaid rental charges, qualifying vehicle damage, tolls, or other properly disclosed and legally recoverable expenses.
Speed may delay the release of a portion of a deposit when a documented transaction or claim remains unresolved, to the extent permitted by law.
Customers will be provided with an explanation of applicable deductions and supporting documentation when reasonably available.
Any remaining refundable balance will be released after the applicable review and processing period.
A security deposit will not automatically be forfeited because a customer cancels a reservation. Any deduction must have a lawful basis under the applicable agreement.
4. Cancellation Refunds
Refund eligibility for canceled reservations is governed by Speed’s Cancellation Policy and the terms accepted when the booking was made.
Unless different terms were disclosed and agreed to in writing:
More than 72 hours before pickup: Eligible for a refund of amounts paid, less any clearly disclosed, lawful, nonrefundable booking or processing fees.
24–72 hours before pickup: A cancellation fee of 50% of the total rental price may apply.
Less than 24 hours before pickup: The reservation is generally nonrefundable, subject to applicable law and any exceptions in the booking confirmation.
No-shows: Refunds are subject to the disclosed no-show and cancellation terms.
Early returns: Unused rental time is generally nonrefundable when the customer voluntarily returns the vehicle early, unless otherwise approved by Speed or required by law.
Any amount retained or charged must be consistent with the applicable agreement and law.
5. Refunds for Vehicle Unavailability
If Speed cannot provide the confirmed vehicle due to a mechanical issue, safety concern, or other availability problem, Speed may offer a comparable replacement vehicle or an alternative reservation.
If the customer declines the alternative, Speed will refund amounts paid for the unavailable rental as required by the applicable booking terms and law.
No customer will be required to accept a replacement vehicle at a higher price without agreement.
6. Mechanical Issues and Interrupted Rentals
If a vehicle experiences a mechanical problem during a rental, the customer must contact Speed promptly and follow reasonable safety and roadside assistance instructions.
Depending on the circumstances, available remedies may include:
Repair or replacement arrangements.
A prorated refund for eligible unused rental time.
A credit toward a future rental, if accepted by the customer.
Other remedies required by the rental agreement or applicable law.
Refund eligibility will depend on the nature of the problem, the period during which the vehicle was unavailable, the circumstances of the incident, and any applicable insurance or contractual provisions.
No refund is guaranteed for a mechanical issue that does not materially affect the rental, and nothing in this section limits nonwaivable legal rights.
7. Damage, Cleaning, and Additional Charges
Refunds and security deposit deductions may be affected by qualifying charges arising from a rental.
Where permitted by the rental agreement and applicable law, Speed may assess documented charges for:
Customer-responsible vehicle damage.
Excessive cleaning or specialized reconditioning.
Unpaid tolls, tickets, or parking charges attributable to the rental.
Late returns or unauthorized extensions.
Other disclosed and legally recoverable rental-related expenses.
Speed will evaluate charges using available evidence, including inspection records, photographs, invoices, and transaction records.
Customers may contact Speed to dispute a charge or request supporting documentation. A charge will not be considered valid solely because it has been asserted.
8. Duplicate Payments and Billing Errors
If a customer believes they were charged twice, billed incorrectly, or charged an amount inconsistent with the booking terms, they should contact Speed with their reservation number and relevant payment details.
Speed will review the transaction and, where an error is confirmed, arrange an appropriate correction or refund.
Customers should avoid sending full payment card numbers or other sensitive financial information through unsecured communication channels.
9. Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds will generally be initiated within 5–10 business days after approval.
The time required for the funds to appear in the customer’s account may vary depending on the payment processor, bank, card issuer, or other financial institution.
Refunds will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method where practicable. If the original payment method is unavailable, Speed may request reasonable verification and arrange an alternative method where appropriate and legally permitted.

12. Policy Exceptions and Legal Rights
Speed may approve exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis. Any exception must be confirmed in writing by an authorized representative.
This policy does not waive rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable federal or state law.

The terms disclosed and accepted when the reservation was made will generally govern that reservation, subject to applicable law.
